How can I ref tournaments?
Click here to view a list of all the tournaments sanctioned by Washington Youth Soccer. When you find a tournament you are interested in, simply reach out to the assignor for information on how to participate.

How do I become a certified soccer referee?
To become certified, you must complete the U.S. Soccer Grassroots Referee course, which includes online coursework and an in-person or virtual field session. Visit Washington State Referee Committee for registration and training opportunities.

How much do referees get paid?
Pay varies by game level and position (center vs. assistant referee), but typical match fees range from $30 to $80 per game. Payment is processed through the WCSRA assigning system.

What equipment do I need to referee?
At minimum, referees need:

What support or mentoring is available?
WCSRA offers mentoring, shadowing opportunities, and evaluation feedback to help new and developing referees grow in confidence and skill.

What happens if I can’t make a game I was assigned to?
Notify the assignor as soon as possible via the WCSRA platform or email. Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may affect future assignments. Turnback's should be rare and excessive turnback's may result in fines.
