Rules and Expectations of WCSRA Referees
Please see below for some rules and expectations of Whatcom County Soccer Referee Association Referees. Please note, this is a general list of rules and is not all inclusive.
General Referee Expectations

Show up 30 minutes before your game starts

No jewelry - All earrings and necklaces should be removed before your game

Wear all black. Referees should be wearing shoes that are at least 70% black, black sweatpants, black undershirts/sweatshirts
Pregame

Check in players on both teams. Check for any jewelry and check for proper equipment

Talk with coaches to make sure you are both on the same page. Confirm game length, how you would prefer the teams to sub, any rule clarifications

Check the field to make sure that the field and equipment (goals, corner flags) are safe to play on

Have a pregame discussion with other referees that you are working with about what you all expect from each other during the game

Location Specifics
Phillips 66 has a referee trailer near the bathroom building. Come on by to grab some snacks, or to get out of the weather!
When walking around/observing other games at Phillips 66, be sure to have your referee jersey off or covered with a coat or sweatshirt.
